The Big Switcheroo

The time has finally come....
I'm entering the unfamiliar and unknown world of Wordpress. Hopefully, this site will be easy to maneuver around for you...
and me.
Ok, confession time:
I'm really a lil concerned
Blame me? I mean....Good grief!!!!!! It's not that long ago that I actually learned how to post a picture on blogger.
My website is still under construction so you might be seeing some funky happenings, but I'll get it straight...sooner or later! I'll figure it out, so bare with me as I venture into my new wordpress world...

Spring is Comingggggggg

I've got the "itis"
Springitius, that is.
Not too much is out, even in the South, but I did manage to snag
a couple of 7.50 Boston ferns from Lowes.
I also grabbed up a purple Senetti flower.
I've never bought one before and think it needs a lil more light than it's going to get ~
but by the time the new flowers hit the stores...I won't care.
I've got creeping jenny in this pot that's slowly creeping to the top waiting to creep down the sides.
Tulips are pushing through as well.
I also added some white petunias.  Even it does get chilly, they should survive it.
That's a Lady Banks Rose in the pot as well.  I'm not sure what I was thinking with this one. If it gets any bigger, people won't be able to get through the front door. HA! I think I wanted it to have that cottage feel...
Not the overgrown feel.
Right now, things are still ok, we will see...
This is Fred the Frog.  He sits on my front porch and ribbets
at any intruder who dares invade our tiny castle..
He's looking mighty sassy with his fine hair do'.
I bought him at an antique store about 11 years ago..
I've been kissing him daily just a waiting to see if he would turn into my perfect prince...
so far....
not so much.
I put this 4.00 bird house on my front porch. You can find these lil guys most anywhere.
He just makes it feel cozy.

True Manure ~ Cumberland Island

Cumberland Island is a the largest of Georgia's barrier islands. 17.5 miles, 36,415 acres  which
includes marsh, mudflats and tidal creeks.
I'm so wishing I could live here...

You can only get there by a ferry.
when the boat pulls up to the island, this is usually the first thing you will see.
wild horses.

This picture was taken with a ZOOM.
The horses take off if you even get near them.

Spanish moss drips from the beautiful live oaks

Not one paved road....

June is the best time to visit Cumberland

Gardens Galore

Our last house had lots of brick pathways, so I tried to create a
unique kind of garden with all sorts of different blooming plants and shrubs.

This is like...
the most unattractive gazebo but once I planted Confederate Jasmin on it,
it became a sweet lil sanctuary to sit in.
The entire back of the house had these huge sliding glass doors,
producing a beautiful view from every room.
This was the original site for the koi pond but I had to re do the entire thing..
The old pond had holes in the liner the size of  a basketball...
I'm not an avid rose garden girl, I kill most of them.
Luckily, there's knock out roses.
The name fits, they are beautiful when in bloom.

The best place to seek God is in a garden. You can dig for him there

A Soft Space For Santa

I'm never gonna understand why everybody in this world doesn't feel the extreme need to decorate every square inch of their garden? Oh I know why.... they are not POSSESSED. You know what they say... somebody's gotta do it
Next time you're at Kohl's pick up some Snow Man pillows.
They cost $11.00  (half price)

If nothing else, you're making a soft place to land for old Santa.
look at him, the poor boy's starving from all this toy building.
Maybe it's Mrs. Claus's fault Santa is so dern skinny.  Maybe we need to direct her to
 Let Them Eat Cake!
This lil sweet fat baby came from T.J. Maxx.

No! I'm not suggesting you set fresh flowers out for Santa Claus... I got these last week from Mr. Roger's store, first initial K.  They were half price from $15.00 to $7.00.  I even added some eucalyptus from my own yard to jazz up this
arrangement.  The reason they got kicked outta the house is because, frankly my dear, they stink.  seriously.

At first I thought it was Lil Idiot.  He was very upset with me after a brutal hair stylist got a hold of him. I thought he may have playing the 'pay back' game.
you know the one I'm referring to...
We discussed it in pun intended
and he was not the one causing the stink.  At least not this time..
Now that I'm looking at him....Lil Idiot is looking pretty skinny himself....better go dig out those scoobie treats :)
